Once a bankruptcy is filed, the Court orders an automatic stay, preventing creditors from garnishing bankruptcy filers. Even an existing garnishment order may be stopped. Creditor phone calls and collection letters must stop--as long as the creditor in question was listed in the bankruptcy petition.
Creditors may not repossess your vehicle after the automatic stay goes into effect (with limited exceptions). Your utilities may not be shut off once you file for bankruptcy.
Stop repossession, keep your power and phone turned on, and get relief from harassing phone calls from creditors. Don't be scared or stressed out--we'll do everything we can to help you.
